had the same experience -10°C and the jets are frozen ;-( Filled up with pure antifreeze (-60°)

Shocked Shocked Neat radiator antifreeze/ coolant is caustic enough to take the paint off your car................................ it's what vandals and tree huggers used to spray on cars they thought nobody should own a few years back!

I'd better get extra locks fitted to my garage door then as I have 60 litres of Halfords super concentrated winter screen wash good for down to -30c that I bought last spring when they were selling it off dirt cheap - the girl on the checkout couldn't believe I was stock piling it ready for the coming (ie this )winter Cool
The Sainsbury's own label super concentrate that was on sale while I was at home is good for something down to -40 as well. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

It was a screen wash antifreeze not for the cooling system.
It is mixed 1:1 good for -25°

Laughing Ahh yes, that's the language barrier - despite myvatn's excellent English.

In German, to distinguish between summer screen wash and winter screen wash they say 'Frostschutz' = anti-freeze. The distinction between radiator and windshield anti-freeze is either from the context or you add Scheiben-Frostschutz (windshield-) or Kühler-Frostschutz (radiator-).

Then again, I just outed myself by saying windshield rather than windscreen, didn't I? Whistle

thx for the compliment, but my english is not that good Wink

Now I try to complete the confusion:

Itr is possible that this green bad smelling stuff i emptied out from the screen wash tank was a coolanrt antifreeze.
Maybe thats the reason both liquids did not mix very well. Big Cry

However
now we have a new filling with blue screen wash antifreeze and some °C above zero and no chance to test the system ;-(

As it's getting colder I'm interested to hear if wrapping the pipe around the radiator hose has made much of a difference?

I look forward to not being able to see a thing out of my windscreen again soon!
