Your cam covers look brilliant..

Good Job, it took me a day to do both mine the first time around, keep an eye on the passenger side at the right hand rear corner, mine leaked there once even with sealer but i have a feeling it was the breather pipe not tightened fully and running down to the corner.
I like my covers, not to everyone's taste, yours look great, really worth doing the powder coat as mine were terrible with all the paint pealing around the sealing channel.
What's next on your list PCV ?

Did the Pcv valve, oil separator and all hoses last week. Thought I would do that before I did cam gaskets. Pcv system was horrible. Yellow gunk everywhere and hoses not even attached.
Bottom 2 screws tried my patience but eventually got them off with a bit swearing..next jobs to replace brake discs/pads ect. Then hopefully manage to fit a set of deployable side steps to my 04.. still dont know how tbh as they work on 2 different canbus signals..I've seen it on earlier cars but need to find out the secret

Nasty gunk ! Are your brake calipers sticking on yet and have the handbrake mechanisms fallen out ?
My front left caliper is a bit hotter than i would like so the caliper rebuild kits are in the garage waiting....

One of thems suspect . Really hot compared to the others so will require investigation..I've seen the kits to repair them so will have 1 on hand..get that done next weeeknd then get my wheels powdercoated and that's my list finished. Getting the timing chains done late summer but I'm leaving that To my brother in law as he's done a few rangeys and that's his trade.. Take my hat off to you doing yours mate, did you ever get to the bottom of the suspect head gasket issue?

Yes the suspect head gasket was the cooling system needing more bleeding with the 80 degree thermostat mod which i think is caused by the aux heater pump not working making the bleeding process more tricky.
i raised the front up on some sleepers and bled the bejesus out of it by keep squeezing the rad hoses either side of the stat with the header tank lid off and all is good.
I've now got a tapping noise from the engine which i think is either the vanos units failed even though i have fitted the seals or hopefully just hydraulic cam followers needing a bleed as if i wring it's neck it quietens down
