'03 L322 Radio ON/OFF, Analog clock resets

First post - hope you can help....

OK here is what is happening with mine - 2003 V8 HSE

I cannot use the radio to set the date or time or reset trip meter or fuel consumption or anything. It just will not interact with the instrument cluster. I have tried resetting (option 21) and battery resets also. So the clock stays at --:-- and the date stays at --/--/2008.

I know the analog clock is set with the digital clock. The analog clock starts to work, funnily enough, like a clock. But turn the radio on and I can watch the dials move back like I was in a time machine. Keep the radio/CD on for 10 minutes and the analog clock indeed reads 12:10 (in analog ). Turn the radio off and its a time machine all over again.

My questions -

Any Ideas?
Where is the ECU that controls the interaction of the radio panel and the instrument panel?

Thanks

You mustn't have a factory head as this is what controls it, if you are able to pull the radio out from the dash to gain access to the O.E connector lead, which will probably be tucked away inside the dash ( I have mine sitting just under the speaker grille on tp of the dash) I can connect my O.E head unit to it and change the date and clock for you. You know where I am, opposite Bruce. Wink
