Space Saver after move from 255/50 to 255/55?

I've just taken the plunge to change all of my tyres on a 2012 Westminster from 255/50/20 to 255/55/20

I've just realised that I need to give some thought to the space saver spare tyre - it's currently a 175/80/19, which I assume won't be healthy to fit alongside the 255/55's if necessary.

Does anybody have any comment on this issue please?

Thanks. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I still have a 255/50 as a spare even though I now have 255/55's fitted.

I was told all the diffs are open (unlocked) in road use so as a get you home measure the odd size would not damage the car.

Having said that if I found a decent Michelin Diamaris sport 255/55 I would fit it to the spare because someone on here commented that the larger size still fits the spare wheel well and I'd like them all to match.

But as an emergency measure I'd guess your current space saver is good enough to get out of trouble. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

I have just got round to swapping my spare tyre to match the 55s on the rest of the car as I was changing the tyres anyway and had a legal part worn as spare.

I have found its a pretty tight fit getting the spare back in. So much so the flooring to the boot as slightly raised.

Only messed about for 5 minutes trying to get it in as I had to go out.

I will need to try again but would be good to know if anyone has had success in fitting the larger tyre spare?
