My Wife and I went to a Range Rover experience day at Eastnor Castle this week. The instructor was showing us the operation of the HDC system on the L405 Range Rover, and mentioned that the speed of the HDC operation could be altered by pressing the cruise control buttons . I asked if this would also apply to an L322 of 2005 vintage, to which he said yes. This took me by surprise because I have never read anything about it in the handbook. I checked again today and can see no mention of it in the handbook.

The road to my house is very steep and when it is covered in snow the only thing that moves in the street is my Rangie, when I first had it ( some 6 years ago now) I used HDC for the descent but I found the speed too fast, so now I use low ration in first gear to creep my way down the hill in the snow.

Does anyone know if the instructor was correct about altering the hill descent speed in a 2005 L322 using the cruise control + and - buttons ? Its big , its black and we call it THE BEAST !

Haven't heard of that one, would be good if it's possible and you use it.

I was told this at a LRE near Ashford 10 years ago. Never tried it though.

You can in my 2011... but I didn't think you could do it in earlier models. Pretty sure my TD6 didn't do it..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

why not engage HDC on the hill by yours house and tray it now?

HDC speed can be altered in all L322's. In earlier models you use the accelerator and brake pedals to alter it. Standard Target speed of around 2-4mph can be altered between 2-22mph in Low Range or 4-22mph in High Range.
