2012 L322 TDV8 19" Tyre Size Info Please

First post so hello everyone!

I have just bought a 2012 L332 that has 20" wheels that I don't like the look of with 255/50/20 Tyres.

These are what the current wheels look like:

I'm going to go down to 19" more plain alloys like these ones:

My question on tyre sizes is what is the correct size for the 19" tyres.

Inside the driver door it has sizes and pressures for 19" and 20" but the sizes are 255/55/19 and 255/50/20.

According to a tyre size conversion calculator the 19" in that specific size will be 6.5% smaller which is quite a lot, I thought the recommended max size change was 2.5%?

Is there a better sized tyre to use or should I stick with what it says on the sticker inside the door?

Also do the valves have tyre pressure sensors that I will need to buy again for the new wheels?

Thanks for your help,

Tim

Sorry, but they won't fit on a 2012. You need style 15 if you want 19 inch.

I have them with my winter tyres on so can post some pictures if needed, but there are plenty on here already.
Just search "style 15"

Thanks for the reply, are you sure they won't fit, is that because of the brake callipers?

Pictures would be great!

Thanks

Tim

Absolutely certain.
They won't clear the brake calipers.
Style 15. are good though.
There is a set of 5 in the for sale section at the moment with winter tyres and photos. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Is it the wheels or the tyre dimensions you are not fond of?

I actually had 275/45/20 on mine when it arrived but I have since swapped for 255/55/20 (which is the L405 standard size I'm told) However it has made it look miles better in my opinion and made it more comfortable and quieter.

Sorry, I have made a mistake.
My 20 inch wheels are style 11.
My 19 inch winter wheels are style 15.
But the type in your picture definitely don't fit over the 6 pot brake calliper.
I had a set from my old Td6 and had to sell them when I upgraded to my 2011 TdV8.

So if you want 19 inch wheels, you need Style 15.

It's the wheels I don't like the looks of, they look huge and not very off roady!

I just found 5 brand new ones on eBay for £110 each which seems like not a bad price!

Next question would be what tyres to put on them!

I'd like All Terrains as I have to drive in soggy fields and down farms tracks sometimes and on the beach.

I had General Grabber AT2s before on my Jeep and thought they were pretty good, I could either get the newer AT3s or just the AT?

Anything better that anyone would recommend? Most of the time I'll be on the road though.

Thanks again.

Can anyone please tell me what "style" these alloys are and/or part number?

I'm going to put them on eBay.

Thanks!

Also, any recommendations for A/T tyres?
