Rear brake pads/shoes and jacking

2006 RR SUPERCHARGED 4.2

About to install new brake pads and parking brake shoes, I have completed all the how too research. Need a little guidance on the jacking so I can rotate the rear wheels.

Does the truck have to be in neutral to be able to turn the rear wheels while jacked? I assume both wheel have to be lifted?

I have four 6 ton jack stands and 3.5 ton floor jack. I was going to set truck in off road height. Jack each side of truck just before wheels lift off ground and place two stands on either side. Come back to rear lower control arms with floor jack and lift rear wheels off ground. Does this sound right?

Leaving 2 wheels on the ground will make the car more stable.

I don't think you can remove the keys unless it's in park. ______________________________

Chock front wheels both sides
Normal Height
Trolley Jack under lower wishbone
Axle stand under jacking point, take some weight if wheel still off the ground
Wheel off
Take the weight on the axle stand
Repeat other side

Key in, foot on brake, select neutral, handbrake off Wink .

Thanks, are you saying that I can lift one corner at a time and the wheel would still spin even if other side is on ground if in neutral?

That's why there is a differential - to let the wheels turn at different speeds - in your case an extreme of one not turning at all

Not much resistance when turning the rear wheels at all. Fitted new rear discs to mine only last week.
