I'm experiencing high revs on start up - approx 3000- and about 12-15 secs later

engne seems to revert to idle normally.

Is this normal for a 5.0 sc?

Any help/info greatly appreciated.

Problem seems to have rectified itself.

my 4.2 did that when cold, i thought it was a kinda choke .... ... - .- -.

My 2003 4.4 petrol does it as well, isn't it to heat up the cats quickly? Drives:

Mine done the same since i have owned it, Cold engine 10-15seconds.. sometimes more when below freezing outside..

then drops to normal idle.

If i start when engine is warm or hot is just goes straight to normal idle.

Early L322 Range Rovers rev between 900-1200rpm at startup when a battery low condition is detected.
