Another (annoying) intermittent problem this one so would be grateful for any experiences.

In the couple of months I've had the car, I've had a problem a few times in not being able to switch off the lights.

I (as I guess most people do) leave the light stalk by the steering wheel set to "Auto". I also have headlight delay set to 30 seconds (this was how the car arrived with me).

My expectation is that when switching off the engine, the courtesy delay should be shown on the dash. 95% of the time this happens.

However a few times this doesn't happen and instead the dash shows the words "lights on". I get out, lock the car and still the dash shows the same message and the lights stay on...

The only way I've found of fixing it is to restart the car and shut down again.

Just a final thought, the most recent time this happened after parking up, the car had done an auto engine stop. I then switched off the ignition (rather than force and engine restart) before getting out of the car.

My wife told me this happened to her. But has not recurred so not sure of the exact circumstances

I'm hoping (fingers tightly crossed) that after 4 dealer visits this has now been cured by replacing the indicator stalk. Only discovered the likely cause when the headlights would flash when signalling left or right. 2016 SDV8 AB
