FBH ( again, sorry )

Keep seeing lots on FBH so thought I would share info :

MY FBH also only blows out cold air but I have found a way round this…I am sure this is just my car it works on but you could try if you have the same fault….( Westy 2012 )
I use the remote control for the FBH and instead of pressing it for 2 seconds, I leave it pressed until the alarm goes off ( not even sure if this should happen )
Have your key ready and cancel the alarm, the FBH then works fine and everything defrosted.
I have repeated this many times and it works fine however just pressing the button for 2 seconds ( until the green led starts flashing ) just seems to set the blowers on…

Maybe a complete fluke or someone might have an idea what is happening, I would appreciate someone checking theirs especially holding the RCU down to see if alarm goes off….

Jeff

That's quite spooky, because I have been running through the same scenario! However I have had so many different results with the FBH i'm sure it has a mind of its Censored own Evil or Very Mad (2012 Westie). It would appear that if my car is double locked the FBH will not work. If it does work it will set the alarm off!

However if i just single lock the car (one push of the lock button rather than 2) It works fine!

Not mentioned it so far as I thought it was just me, coupled with all the other posts about FBH issues.

Anybody have any further thoughts on this! 2006 RR sport HSE

Your method appears to work, if you single lock the car and put on the FBH it works fine..I tried this morning and unlocked the car, then locked it with just one press, then presssed the rcu on the heater and toasty drive to work....its not a solution but a bloomin good work around. My warm feet salute you !!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
