The plastic bracket holding the switch may be broken allowing the switch to drop and causing the bottom on the switch to not be fully depressed. ______________________________

If I let my bonnet drop from about eight inches it latches fine. If I push it shut, the dash warning comes up once I start moving. Guess which method of closing it I use. |

I had the same issue on my 4.4 tdv8. I gave the switch a good spray with wd40 and no more issues. |
