All, my son has landed a placement at ATR in Toulouse for 3 months this summer, so we're currently looking for somewhere for him to say.
Clearly we'll be obliged to go and visit him, if he's lucky enough to have a place with a pool, so does anyone have, or know of anyone who might have such a place for rent?

I don't know of any places off the top of my head, though can easily find out. Would he be after an apartment or a private house? A lot of the Airbus people stay up around Seilh nowadays, near the golf course, which is North of the factory and makes the trip in a bit easier. In fact, anywhere North is reasonably easy, like Mondonville or Cornebarrieu, which are pleasant though quiet. Léguevin is also a nice place and handy for commuting.

Toulouse itself is very expensive, same as all big cities I suppose, and a place with a pool would be even more so, plus it takes an age to get in and out of town due to the sheer volume of traffic. Time doesn't really matter, it's always busy, but leaving after 07.00 to get into work you may as well forget it.

I'll be speaking to a friend who lives there on Tuesday (he actually phoned me a couple of hours ago) and will put your question to him and hopefully report back. I've not been there myself for over a year now, I worked there for a good few years, and don't miss the place one bit anymore though I still keep in regular contact with a few mates and meet up occasionally in other less exotic places.  Dave
