Is L322 depreciation getting worse/better

Bought my TD6 7 years ago. It was 7.5 years old with 114,000 km's on the clock. Not in perfect condition.

Saw a 4.4 tdv8 for about the same price as I had paid for my TD6 all those years ago - 2 years newer, although with 14,000 km's more on the clock. Seems in perfect nick.

I know in Switzerland cars are very price sensitive to mileage, and by 2012 the L322 was approaching the end of it's life, but for the second hand buyer they do seem to be getting better value.

What's it like for you people back in Blighty?

I traded my 2007 3.6 TDV8 VSE in with 85k miles on it with full Land Rover Service history, in August 2014 I got £11,000 for it after paying £24,250 at a main dealer 18 months previous. I've seen the same model for lower than £11k but still around that price. The 4.4s seem to stay around £20k (the 2011 ones I've been looking at anyway...)

Jeez - £13k for 18 months!

I think my RR has cost me about £2800 per year in depreciation - or £4200 over 18 months - but then it's a very old car.

I'm wondering what the next release of vehicle will do to the L322's.

It's like there's no place for the old squared versions... Smile
