I've seen a couple of used L322s advertised online here in Germany as being first sold here but that have a fire extinguisher fitted to the passenger seat base like in this photo. German cars are not required to have one fitted here.

Is it an LR option? If not it could be a sign the car originates from another country where fire extinguishers are mandatory. Anyone know which countries they may be?

Belgium mandatory.
France no.

Obviously still a sensible addition but there are mixed views about using an extinguisher on someone else's vehicle and possible ramifications.

Personally wouldn't hesitate to do so. John

I had a neighbour some years ago who extinguished a petrol car fire on another neighours car which was half in and half out of an integral garage with an extinguisher like the above. If he hadn't the chances are the garage and attached house could well have burnt down.
I've always carried an extinguisher as a result.

Always carry one in the back of the car, just a small one, if the fire is any bigger than can be handled with it you should really run away!

Got one in the caravan too just in case my chip pan catches 🔥  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mandatory in Estonia. In addition the extinguisher needs to be inspected once a year and equipped with a sticker indicating the date of the inspection, the date for the future inspection and the inspector's signature. In order to pass the MOT the extinguisher must a.) be in the vehicle, b.) bear the valid inspection sticker and c.) appear to be in working order.
