Not sure if the current inclement weather had crudded up the mechanism but my side steps were either really slow going in or out , sometimes staying in or out and generally looking a little out of kilter.

Just freed both mine off. Easiest way is to remove the step, 4 small Allen bolts. Disconnect rod to rear hinge, 8mm bolt. Place rags or cardboard on floor under hinge. Squirt copious amounts of wd40 to hinge pins whilst working the hinge in and out by hand, sure I must have worked it a hundred times but it freed off and works a treat now. Once free a good soaking of engine oil followed by a smear of grease |

I had this issue on my previous RR, was under warranty, they said either Battery issue- ( not strong enough) or motors on the steps. In the end they changed the motors of the steps. Never had problems again. 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black
