Got my car back from having the the drive belts changed (4.4 TDV8) and the heater is not working properly. Could it be conected to the repair or just coincidence? The front was taken out, grill radiator etc. to replace all of the belts, pulleys and tensioner/idler.

Sounds very much like air trapped in the heater pipes. Mine has LPG so the heater pipes are taken up to the pressure reducer to warm the lpg and that means the pipes are high in the engine bay where the air collects. When bleeding the cooling system I usually have to loosen the jubilee clips to let the air escape and then my heaters work (and the LPG too).

The garage came and collected it today, they seem keen to resolve it.
