The mini jet engine sound is normal (RR owners are supposed to be so used to that from their Lear jets that they don't notice it |

Actually the ticking only lasts 10-15 seconds at the beginning. It did this from the first day I had it. |

My 2005 X5 had an electro-magnetic fuel pump for the webasto, this was silent. Have the fbh fuel pumps been changed for the newer model FFRR? Ian |

No, they are still the same. The pump actually meters the amount of fuel, and by varying the frequency, the mixture can be changed (petrol and diesel actually share most components - the ecu has a different frequency for pumping one vs. the other).

Sportex, both the TDv6 RRS and the TD6 FFRR I had did that fan running bit for the first 1/4 mile or so, I was told it was something to do with the gearbox oil cooling or the Viscuous Coupling cooling sensor - nothing to worry about. Neither the RRS TDv8 nor my current TDV8FFRR do it though. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |
