Rings very true - had the same issue this weekend. From a bit of searching it appears that the gauge is extremely sensitive to the car being absolutely level. I tested this with a slight gradient - nose up over filled, nose down 3/4 filled!

I recall the handbook saying that it was bad for the car to run overfilled, so if I were you I would check the level again and have any excess removed if necessary. Bishbosh is absolutely right that the sensor is very sensitive to the level of the car and it seems to display in whole units rather than showing the level between lines, so exaggerating the effect. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |
