I ahve just brought this how do I find out as much about it as I can - is there a way of getting the original tech spec of the car ?

I can see from service schedule it has had warranty work £136 at some point

Any and all info greatly appreciated.

You can register for a free Topix account on the following site and then use the VIN to access a build sheet, which will specify exactly the configuration when it was built. It will list any outstanding service actions (i.e. any not completed). I don't think this site will list any warranty work already completed, but a main dealer may be able to look it up for you.

form experience my 12my has been far more reliable (he says holding on tightly to his wooden desk) than my 3.6. There are some things to check have been done as you probably know. Have a search around on here and the common threads will be apparent there are a couple of places oil finds its way out of the engine, only one its an urgent attention issue (see MJdronfield thread on the cooler leak). Nothing major has gone pop though so far in any great number on them, so that is comforting.

check your boot lip carefully as they are more prone to corrosion than the earlier cars for some reason, and you are in the last year of your corrosion warranty on a 61 plate so best to get it attended to. Had 2 done (one on each car) by LR no quibbles.

Ill look for the cooler leak thread and see what I can find out - I am picking it up Thursday and plan to get it to a garage and have them go over it and check it's all good - I'll get them to check the cooler.

Im going to get another battery fitted aswell - I'm thinking it's easier to get it replaced whilst all electrics are happy rather than a flat battery and all that follows - im working on the basis that 5 year old battery wouldnt hurt to be replaced.

I will look at boot lip and see what is going on with that.
