Is the lower tailgate inner trim held on with clips as per the door cards on a 2003 ff? I tried prising it off (not too hard) but couldn't get anything to give.... QUID FACIUM TIBI

I've just done this job on mine.

First you have to remove the plastic finisher on top of the lower tailgate, but be careful as the caps that go over the screws disintegrate. Then you prise up 7 clips keeping the carpet / cover in place.

Dead easy except for the screw covers.
