Just before Christmas we replaced both front struts on my L322. We ordered Delphi units from the supplier. There were no manufacturer markings on the boxes nor anywhere on the struts. The bags are marked Made in Mexico and the top plates are marked made in Spain.
The Delphi strut removed from the car has Delphi embossed on the upper rubber seal up at the top plate and a Delphi label on the strut. The top plate is Made in Germany, the rubber bag is also labelled Delphi, the strut is labelled Made in Spain. The removed strut:
I am wondering if I really have been provided the more expensive Delphi items. Oh, the Delphi strut didn't have a leaking bag, it was leaking past the O-rings up inside the bag. Ron B.
