Got to be between Millwall, West Ham, or Cardiff.

Definitely a left hand thread, as regards size, think its a 36mm, but don't hold me to it.

Thanks there. Should be Cardiff this year but haven't put a bet on.

I bought the 'special' tool for locking the water pump but it's very awkward to position and hold while trying to undo the fan nut. I took the advice of some very experienced people on this forum who said to put the spanner on the fan nut then hit it sharply, not hard, with a soft mallet in the direction it's meant to go and the shock loosens the nut.

Two Halfords fan spanners will do the job, but fiddly as they are not long enough. I bought a massive combination spanner from the same, but only just long enough to give it a whack!
