I'd say Desire HD would be a great option, particularly on T-Mobile. They offer 3GB data for Android phones as part of your package (all other phones normally have 1GB). You can also use the phone as a mobile hotspot.

Not a fan of buying the iPad on contract. You are paying a lot more to save a couple of hundred quid up front. If you are keen on the iPad, buy the WiFi version and use an Android phone as mobile hotspot when you need 3G connectivity.

Be sure to talk to your retentions team to get the best deal, particularly if you have been with T-Mobile for a while. Paul

Had an HTC Legend for 6 months - great phone, lots of apps from Android market doers everything, and is open source, not tied in to what Apple tell you to do! With Android 2.2 also operates as a wifi hotspot! .

I really like the iPhone as well - sorry Dan Laughing
I've never been tied into what Apple wanted. My iPhones have all been jailbroken and unlocked within a few weeks. And they are not only aesthetically pleasing, they work very well. Especially in a RR.

iPhone 4 will work well but HTC phones are coming on strong with Android.

Never mind the farting apps, that's all anti-Apple talk (sorry Dan Wink ) the appstore is YEARS ahead of any other store be it Nokia or Android (I'm hoping Android catches up soon as I want to move from Apple)

Useful apps for me are things like Nike+, Rail, Streetcar, Virgin Atlantic, all sorts that aren't available on other stores for other platforms and are being continually developed.

If wanting a well executed phone NOW buy the iPhone 4 - If you're going to wait until mid-2011 then unless Apple do something drastic then I think Android will be close enough to warrant moving.

I love Nokia phones, the aesthetics are always superb but they've been left behind by the OS war and I think Nokia should just get on the Android wagon and bring their expertise to it.

HTC Desire HD is a lovely looking phone but LARGE compared to iPhone/Desire etc.,

nbunney, the question is what do you want the phone for...Is it just calls and text, music, crappy apps. e-mail, camera etc...

Currently on T mobile with a HTC.

Do I:

wait even longer, waited since August so far, for a Windows 7 HTC from T mobile

Get an I phone from T mobile, will cost me £99

Lower my T Mobile price plan and get an I pad from orange for £199

Rolling Eyes

I do not know what to do.

OP, how do you find T-mobile as a network?

Was thinking of switching from iPhone 3G on O2 to HTC Desire HD on T-Mobile..

I think that Apple have now been (momentarily) overtaken by their competitors. Bigger screen, better camera, better features and you're not forced to use Censored iTunes to get music/videos/contacts etc on/off your phone.

They deserve the credit for moving the game on but they've slipped behind now - still no Adobe Flash, antenna problems, can't replace the battery etc etc.

Don't get me started on the iPad. Whistle

Yeah thats what made me consider them. As you can use the HTC as a wifi hotspot the extra data allowance will come in useful Thumbs Up
