I am a big watch fan, mainly Jaeger le Coultre and Rolex, but also have an Omega Speedmaster and Breitling Emergency.

I'm also a big watch fan.

What I like is the engineering (in miniature) aspect.

My wife and son bought me a storage box for Christmas.

Quick iPhone pic.

P.S. I don't normally set them all to the same time! It was a slow Boxing Day.

Happy New Year to all.

Regards

Alan

Have these. The Rolex is a 2004 DateJust 16200 with blue dial, smooth bezel and oyster bracelet.

Less sure of the reference of the Omega without checking the paperwork, but its roughly '95-'97 i think...
Both 36mm

Love them both but wear apple watch most of the time.

Hi Alan, The original photo looked like an 806 but that is much clearer. Nice watch. Thumbs Up As I said earlier, I've had my 806 since 1968. Have to look it up but, as I remember, it is a 1966.

Bought it off a friend for £25.

Although I used to love watches and felt almost naked without one, I've recently stopped wearing them and have felt a small sense of liberation at not having the time on permanent display.

I could not have even considered this a few years ago, but I realised that I refer to my iPhone a lot and that displays the time on the Home screen. One day of experimenting with this has drawn into 10 months.

However, I do really hanker after an iWatch with a polished stainless case and brown leather strap. Maybe if I ever have another job, I'll get myself one.

By my bedside, however, are a number of previous 'dailies'. One Garmin SwimWatch, two Russian Aviator models that i adore and are wonderfully well-made and yet available via eBay for next to nothing, and a Raymond Weil that my wife bought for me over 14 years ago.

That said, looking at Alan's impressive collection has made me wistful for something along his lines of large round face, simple dial and a leather strap. Tasteful, classic and elegant. My Aviator models fulfil this function, but without the pedigree. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

I have a few.

More expensive:
Breitling Chronomat (bought for me by my wife for our first wedding anniversary)
Jaeger le Coultre - AMVOX1
Jaeger le Coultre - Squadra Chrongraph GMT
Omega Seamaster

Cheap:
Steinhart Ocean Black (i was going to buy a Pro Hunter Rolex but decided I would like to see how I got on with the concept first so bought a "homage". Liked it but couldn't be bothered to buy the real one)
Ingersol moon phase thing - bought when my Omega stopped one day.

Connected:
Apple Watch 2 - Christmas present that I'm getting used to. Quite useful
Garmin Fenix 3 - unbelievable bit of kit when you get into the data it can produce with a a heart rate strap
Garmin vivosmart HR - activity tracker
Fitbit HR - bought before I moved into the Garmin ecosystem

Some fantastic pieces here, my daily:
Breitling chronomat evolution, rose gold bezel, pilot bracelet :

This was my first breitling, a colt super ocean which my wife has started wearing, suppose it's better getting used. Told her when my son is old enough, he will be getting it:

Tried on a beautiful Panerai last time I was in Hamilton & inches in Edinburgh, only to be told it was £18k! Needless to say I love my balls and did not go for it!

G shocks all the way for me since the mid nineties.

And the one that started it all off back in the day and lasted thru two battery changes till about 7years ago Sad
http://mygshock.com/wiki/DW-6100

It got truly and well abuse as G-Shock wasn't as well known back then and the idea of a watch that could be smacked about was unheard of. Most kids had the calculator style Casio ones but it was the best watch ever. It went everywhere with me and took the abuse of an outdoor life and school! Having 7peoples weight placed on top of it, spending a D&T class battering the cud out of it by banging it off various things and with them and it barely even got a graze! The worst marks came from when I came off my bike going downhill which actually put me off biking for a bit Sad

My only gripe with them is that I feel they should offer an easy after purchase option of steel or Velcro straps instead of the standard rubber as I always seem to be between the holes so ta either a smudge loose or tight Sad unless I move it up my r a lttle FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Current daily wear _ Panerai 111 on custom Toshi leather strap
Really appreciate both the mechanical engineering in the watch and the craftsmanship in the strap

Great minds think alike... I've had a Toshi strap on mine for about 8 years now.
I've got a few of his. Regards
