3 weeks old and broken.

Yup...broken already, heating system has gone awol, air con comes on and off at will and fan won't work, wind it up to max and nothing. Park heater seems to stay on which in turn upsets the heating system and car mists up inside unless you drive with window slightly open which was slightly irritating yesterday on a 300 mile trip. I have arranged for LR assist to come out this afternoon.
Did well, got to 800 miles without a fault, must be a record!! Bow down

Also, scratch on passenger door when I collected it but that's the dealer's fault. Needs the door painting... Censored Big Cry

BUT goes well...likes a drink though Thumbs Up

Wife drove back in the fog last night so gentle but still got only 20mpg. I'm not getting anywhere near that Whistle
Still, the performance more than makes up for it and the sound is just fabulous especially after a diesel. Just such a great all round vehicle and with this engine puts a smile back on my face Very Happy If you get the chance try and get a drive to see how much better the NVH is in comparison.

Need to get the paintwork sorted and hopefully heating fixed by the overworked LR assist engineer this afternoon.

Sorry to hear about your problems especially at only 800 miles, hopefully LR Assist will get you warm again soon. Have you done any long journeys or is that the 20mpg?

20mpg was the best on a long 130 mile mostly motorway trip with wife driving at no more than 75-80mph. I guess it may improve with a few more miles on the engine but I'm not expecting much more.

Nice helpful chap from LR Assist arrived this evening, his first job was laptop out and check if a well known software update that has to be completed prior to any new FFRR being delivered had been carried out. Surprise, surprise it hadn't been done and the technician wasn't surprised either Sad
What really irritates me is when you call the main dealer's service department and discuss the issue at the outset, why the bloody hell don't they put 2 and 2 together and get 4? It's allegedly a common issue and the service personnel should know these things and be able to effect a repair themselves, in this case and probably others they just pass the problem to someone else. Incompetence by the main dealer yet again.
Still waiting for the dealer to initiate the paintwork repair, it's only been 3 weeks and they've not called me yet.

This is my third L405, two being new. I will NEVER buy another one. The dealers are worse than useless and are only interested in selling cars and taking your money, they don't give a monkey's about aftercare or customer retention.

Made a mistake there...having checked my LR app on the phone this journey gave us 25.4mpg, the figure of 20mpg quoted above was my average to date in 962 miles that I have covered which has mainly been short journeys in or around towns.
So, much better than I thought even though with my wife driving it's going to be improved but I'm guessing I'll get 22'ish on a journey which is OK.

Phew, I'm glad your mpg is better than just 20mpg. I was thinking I might have to pour oil onto the fire and tell you that both my SCs have done far better!

The dealers seem to let down the product rather than the other way around.

Nick couldn't agree more. The reason - too much business handed to them on a plate and they get complacent. 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze
