Just advertised it on that well known site... Took some more pics as well..
You are looking at a 2003 Range Rover L322 4.4 V8 petrol running on a sequential LPG injection system. It is a Vogue model. It is finished in Epson Green metallic paint, the interior is Ivory over Aspen.
I have spent the last three years turning this into the most capable Green Laning L322 Range Rover possible, I’m 6’5” and don’t fit in a Land Rover 90, I wanted something different to Green Lane and nobody had done anything serious to an L322 so decided to give it a go.
The requirement was for a fully sorted and capable off roader, I wanted something reliable and capable of doing anything you pointed it at without issue or damage.
The final result has surpassed expectations, this really is off roading in a limo, sitting in a 12 way electric dual zone heated leather seat holding a new heated leather steering wheel and pointing this at anything knowing that it will come out the other side is just what was planned, this has been up most of the green lanes in the country from South Wales to the Lake district with ease.
It has been the subject of two full magazine features in Land Rover Owner International and Action 4x4 in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
I picked the Range Rover up with gearbox and suspension issues, a fully rebuilt ZF5HP24 was fitted together with a new torque convertor, oil cooler and lines, this ensures the gearbox is now totally sorted with silky smooth changes and works just as it should do. The suspension compressor was rebuilt and now works to factory specifications.
I then set about sorting out other minor issues, servicing and carrying out a lot of preventative maintenance and modifications to ensure this was a fully sorted and reliable Range Rover.
All the following have been made/fitted/modified/changed in the last 2 ½ years
Heavy duty steel front & rear winch bumpers, the front with an A bar and LED spots, the rear with a removable tow bar, these are made from 4, 6 and 8mm plate, they closely follow the original bumpers to keep the clean lines, they have been made slightly wider to protect the bodywork, they have been hot dip galvanised, then etch primed, textured and colour coded. The front is fitted with a ComeUp winch, these are superb winches, strong and fast and were the choice of the company that made the Top Gear Arctic Challenge trucks and they had an unlimited budget.
Twin electric fans fitted with a soft start relay, complete with internal isolator with audible warning, fully adjustable Kenlowe thermostat.
Modified engine thermostat, uses “normal” stats and keeps the engine cooler.
The LPG system has been completely overhauled, had a new vaporiser and has been set up correctly, totally automatic switching and runs perfectly. It has a spare wheel well tank that holds 80ltrs of LPG. The filler is set high in the rear wing so it doesn’t get full of mud when off roading.
I sourced and fitted a G4 three piece underbody protection kit in 8mm alloy, this covers the whole engine, transfer box and petrol tank, was designed by Land Rover to protect the underside, these kits retail for well over £1000 if you can find one.
It has heavy duty steel galvanised Rock sliders made from 80x40x5mm box with tree sliders, these double up as an aid to get in and are covered with clear grip tape.
I have fitted a 40 channel Integrated CB in the glove box with a remote, removable handset plugged into the dash. I use a massive heavy duty mag mount that stays on the roof no matter what, it stores out of sight in the rear boot side cubby when not in use.
A custom modified D4 snorkel was extensively modified to fit and ensures safe water crossings
An LPG tank takes up the spare wheel space in the boot so a rear, swing away, spare wheel carrier was made, It is very strong and pivots on oversized Heim joints. Fully powder coated in Satin black. This then left an awkward looking number plate recess, this was plated over flush with 2mm steel, the number plate has been moved, hidden number plate lights are fitted in the top tailgate and superbright Ring LED lamps have been fitted as reversing lights.
The problematic Range Rover stereo was removed and replaced with a modern Android head unit, fully touch screen running IGO GPS, complete with Bluetooth hands free, radio, DVD etc, it is basically an Android tablet so runs any available Apps, this also runs Memory Map, a popular mapping method for Green Laning. Works perfectly with the multi-function steering wheel controls. I’ve fitted a top spec duel Parrot self-cancelling microphone.
All 20+ interior lights have been changed for LED’s, no more flat batteries by leaving the door open.
An interior voltage gauge was added to keep an eye on the factory rebuilt Bosch alternator and the new, uprated 110amp battery.
The rear box was removed and replaced with a stainless Audi S4 rear box this gives additional ground clearance and makes the V8 sound wonderful without being loud or intrusive.
When the rock sliders were fitted, the sills were cleaned up and rustproofed and all the box sections were injected with pints and pints of Dinitrol
Genuine range Rover 18” alloys were sourced and fitted with a set of five Maxxis Bighorn 275/65/18 (32") full mud tyres, they are only a few thousand miles old and are 10ply light truck tyres so are very strong.
It comes with four spare 18” wheels.
It has a new set of stainless sill scuff plates and a full set of genuine rubber mats + boot mat
The price also includes the latest Bluetooth Gap IIDtoolBT diagnostic tool, this plugs into the OBD2 port and via a smartphone app (IOS or Android) can read and clear codes from most Land Rover vehicles going back to the early 2000’s. It is vin locked to this Range Rover and can modify the CCF file (various customisations) as well as raise and lower the suspension for off road work. These are an invaluable tool and cost over £400. See website for full information. https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool/

New heated steering wheel

Rebuilt EAS compressor.
So, as you can see, this Range Rover has wanted for nothing, it does however come with a few “bad bits.”
The electric adjustable steering column doesn’t work, it is missing the reach motor and ECU, I have a tested and working tilt motor but never got round to fixing it as I never needed to move it. You can adjust it manually with a screwdriver by removing the steering wheel shroud or buy a motor (£100-£120) and an ECU (£20-£30)
Self-dipping feature on the nearside mirror is erratic, works sometimes, not others… Mirrors work fine…
And finally the radio aerial is not the best, I think the original aerial amplifier is faulty, it picks up stations but only the very strong ones, I usually listen to music which is stored on a 32GB SD card or hot spot my phone to the head unit and use a DAB radio app.
And that’s about it, everything else works as it should, all heated seat elements in the front and rear seats work, both seats work in all directions, both mirrors adjust and fold in, aircon is icy cold, heater is nice and hot, all windows and sunroof work, including the total open and close feature on the keyfob. Cruise control works.
I have just MOT’d it so it now has more than a year, it runs out on 10th February 2018
Both keys have been replaced with flip keys with integrated fob, both work fine.
Registered at DVLA as Bi-fuel so a discount on the VED which is £295 per year reduced by £15 down to £280, not a massive saving but better than nothing…
I have just had the bumpers galvanized and decided to have both sides painted at the same time as the bumpers, this has resulted in it now being closer to a show truck, the sides had several very small dents and some bush rash, it now shines like new… The rest of the panels have been polished to match and boy does it look nice….
I was planning on keeping this for another year but a change in circumstance mean I am not going to get the chance to use it so it is time to let it go and buy a road car
Please ring me for a chat and/or come and see the Range Rover to fully appreciate how good it is and how nicely it drives. Please note :- I will not let anyone else drive it, I will take you on a test drive and do all you ask but I had someone damage a car on a test-drive and I lost a lot of money so I am sorry but you cannot drive it unless you give me a deposit equal to the price of the Range Rover.
I am located just west of Hull please ring/text 07971 161885 9am-10pm only please. If you want to make an offer please send me a message as well.
Thanks for looking.

I have made a removable towbar for the rear bumper, here is a picture of it bolted to the underside of the rear bumper, it has been galvanised, you can see the slot for the rear winch fairlead.
The rear winch was a slow, cheap Chinese one and it seized up some time ago so currently there isn't one fitted..
Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Pete
