Which suspension bushes should I prioritise?

I've just purchased a 2006 Vogue Td6 with 100,000kms on the clock. What a dream! Very Happy Very Happy

I haven't driven a Rangie for more than 5 minutes before this, but I can't help but feeling the handling is not quite right. When holding it in a straight line it seems a bit wobbly, like it's going between left and right camber. I have receipts for maintenance for the last 8 years and no sign of any suspension bushes being changed.

Are suspension bushes a good place to start? What is a typical age for them to last?
What should I change as a priority?

Cheers all. -Justin

If you have no clonks and clunks when cornering and no noise when driving over speed bumps then they should all be OK, they soon let you know when they aren't,

I'd have the wheels and tyres balanced and get a 4 wheel alignment done...

If you want a second opinion then any garage will be able to tell you if you do have worn bushes... Thumbs Up Pete

+1 for above, and check your tyre pressures.
amazing what a couple of pound pressure can make.
Thumbs Up

Mines just hit 108k and pretty much all of them are MOT advisories. I've just told my mechanic to do the lot. Need a decent indie to do the geometry after bushes so figured do them all in one go and get the geo setup.

My lower rear bushings on the front axel are visually the worst though.

mackempete, to clarify is that 108k kms or miles? Quite a difference. Smile

Thanks all, I'm actually due for tyres very soon, particularly front ones so maybe I will prioritise that for a start. -Justin

hehe Yes, I'm only at 60k miles. Sounding like I have a while to go before worrying about suspension bushes based on the comments so far! Good news I guess! -Justin
