I have been made aware by a Land Rover Independent garage I deal with that hard copy service books are no longer available on 2014+ cars...

As I do not buy 2014 I have not come across this yet can anybody verity and if so is there now a central accessible record?

Yes - but if you ask them they will give you a printed service history, but it's on a sheet of A4 - no physical books to stamp any more.

I'm not sure whether it's just MD's or whether Indies can subscribe to it.

Sounds like a way of forcing owner to use Main Dealer of have no proof of service other than an invoice...

An invoice is pretty decent proof IMHO - it has the VIN number on it, so arguably better than a stamp in a book anyway.

More likely to get lost along the way though - and would have the address of the owner at the time which some might not like.....

I had up to 45k miles and 3 years old done at the MD - but my 60k was at my local indi as will all future services on this one.

You don't have to be a Main Dealer to be an Approved Service Centre.

We have both an Approved Service Centre and a Main Dealer in Ipswich both run by separate organisations.
