Jobs worth doing alongside EGR's - tdv8?

As per title, am doing the EGR's on our '07 tdv8.
Are there any other preventative maintenance jobs that could/should be done at the same time while she's in bits?

Thanks

I had mine done last year at an independent - he told me he always tests the pre-heaters as they go faulty quite often. I just told him to change the lot - last thing I need is cold starting problems. I have no idea how to test them, but it wasn't overly expensive to change them anyway.

Decided as the thermo housing with the two elbow hoses is £100 that I'd wait till it's stripped for egrs.
Didn't want to be stuck with bits I don't need.

You cant see in my crappy pic but it also has a weep on the rhs of the housing.
