Which screen wash additive?

So, back in the good old days before tree huggers took over the planet we could get screen wash which actually worked. Nowadays I can't seem to find anything which will cut through the road film.

What do you chaps use?

I use some stuff I got from Lidl - I got it because it's good for conditions down to -40 or something like that - having had my washer jets freeze once whilst skiing - and therefore regular steps to put water onto the screen - I now get the lowest temperature rating I can find.

It seems to work pretty well.

I've just used the last of it, so need to go hunting for more.

It was recommended on this thread

Autoglym "Ultimate Screenwash" for me. Cleans fine and can be diluted to suit temperature. I thought the nozzles were heated and so should not freeze, and have not known that to happen. I have had screenwash freeze when skimmed into a thin film across the screen by the wipers, in colder winters (below -10) indicating that a more concentrated mix was required. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I bought a batch of this a long while back (http://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Genuine-Mercedes-Benz-X6-Windscreen-Washer-Fluid-1-Ltr-Bottles/1214149087) and diluted to suit into a large container with a tap.....it was a considerably less than that price as well.

No squeaks, no film or smearing; it just cleans....doesn't smell bad either. When I run out in about 4-5 years time Whistle I will replace with whatever good quality stuff I can find.
