FSR quick questions.

Ok I did my research and see this is a common issue that causes the loss of a blowing fan and odd fan speed issues. As usual these things go bad in the worst weather and worst time. This weekend up in New England with temp colder that Iceland the fan stops. Ordered FSR. Even if it isn't the issue I'm sure it won't go to waste.
Here is the history:
This summer A/C stopped producing cold air. Again at the worst time in mid 90s and heavy humidity. The after about 5 hours it was back on blowing cold. Once home checked pressures and all perfect. Never happened again. Prior to this the fan speed would do odd changes on its own. Thought it was a function of the system at the time. Then a few weeks ago after sitting 3-4 days the battery was dead(9.9v). Jump charge and no problem. I blamed it on my Smartride OBDII reader for my Nationwide insurance discount draining it. Looking back at these things are there opinions FSR was the culprit?

thanks

Update:
I have heater blower again! Other than hanging upside down under the foot well it was a relatively easy swap. Since the wiring plug clips were broken we can assume this is at least the 3 FSR in this car. The hardest part was getting the FSR to release from the clip. I used a half inch wide body panel tool between the bottom of the FSR and clip and a long screwdriver on the cabin side. I followed the quick method of just removing the foot well panels and heater duct. I will be interested to see if any of the other electrical issues my iidtool has recorded will return.
