Do you often drive with your A/C off? I think it's only a set of big resistors with a heatsink that's placed in the airflow near the HVAC fan, if I recall it's before the heater matrix but after the aircon? Maybe you're just overheating yours often.

This a problem we never had with the P38A - they didn't use an FSR for fan speed control. Ron B. VK2OTC

Just replaced mine so have been reading on it. 2 potential issues. 1. The part has been revised so probably tbe original design fell short. 2. If the blower starts to get sticky with bearing wear it stresses the FSR and shortens its life. |
