Replacing Car Stereo with Tablet & Amplifier

Hi,

I have a 2003 wit Sat Nav, Head unit is "faded",pixels still there but color is gone. I went through a lot of posts but I could not find what I look for. Replacing the Unit (full set: GPS, Amp, head Unit) with a tablet.

Why a tablet:
I don't use Radio much, I don't use CD / DVD or TV.
I mainly use Music GPS, Phone.

I consider the following option:
- Tablet and Amplifier (new).

Does anyone already replaced the OEM with a tablet & amplifier?
It looks doable to me but I may miss some critical points, more than happy to have your comments & recommendations.

Thanks

Patrick

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken both install kept the existing Car Stereo / Sat Nav in place.
After reading numerous post it seems not possible to connect my 2003 Sat Nav system with external device.

Off course I would prefer to plug the tablet to existing system, using CD Charger connection but I did not find any post - tuto.

The Freelander version is fitted into the space left on certain models that don't have a sat nav system as original.
I know this as I considered doing a similar installation to my daughters Freelander. Thumbs Up
