I recently lost all sound on my 2004 L322, first port of call was of course the opening up of the very expensive sound compartment. My fears were confirmed when all 3 terminals were full to the brim with water, this is going to be expensive thought I! A perusal onto e bay and few phone calls to specialists confirmed that I was soon going to be £300 lighter.
Anyway, I of course went onto the FF forum and did a night of very useful reading and thought I couldn't do any worse than strip it all out, dry said Amplifier on my radiator, clean all terminals and give it a squirt of contact cleaner. After 2 days drying it out I put it all back together, crossed my fingers and turned the key, hey presto I have sound again!
Now I'm not professing to be some sound guru, but if it happens to you then don't be in such a rush to go and spend your hard earned wages getting it replaced or fixed, The whole job took me about 2 hours and cost me a tenner, just thought I'd share it, you never know it might just work for someone else Was looking forward to a stress free retirement, then I went and bought a FFRR, and that they say is that!
