DVLA can be the cause of problems and previous owners. The Audi I had before my current FF spent a period of time untaxed and un sorn at some point in its life and for this reason they wouldn't let me do the transfers online, I even had to use the snail mail method to get the plates off when I bought my FF.

Get my plates from the DVLA website, usually get the paperwork in a couple of days, then swap the plate online. Normally all done in 3-4 days from purchase. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
