I've just spoken to them. They seem to think the software issue affected only the more recent cars but they're checking my VIN to see if it's in range too and will update if necessary. I'll hear tomorrow morning. Current Fleet;

IIRC there's something in the Wiki that says you need a dealer reprogram if you replace the battery - I could be wrong though.....

Confirmed. My car is on the list for the "gateway module" update. Seemingly this is what gives the battery low issue.

+1 for the software update although my message was also the result of a genuinely low battery, as tested with a multimeter.

Well I'm now a month on and the issue has reoccurred a few times. We decided not to use the car one weekend so I could give the batteries a good charge up. I did this and the error message went away and stayed away for a full week. Then it got really cold so my wife used the FBH to warm the car a few mornings in a row and hey presto the low battery alert has come on again.

I have had this on my current and last one. On the last one a battery change by LR fixed the issue. On this one they changed two batteries and with the issue reoccurring then finally changing the battery control module I think. Haven’t had the issue again. 2011 5.0SC Santorini Black

Thanks for that. LR have obviously done the update to my module but given the car is 3.5yrs old now and has done 45k I think I'm likely to have killed the battery. It only does a handful of miles in the hands of my wife each day. We're 2miles from the city centre so it's still cold when it gets there. The short trips will have taken their toll and killed a cell or two...I hope! Current Fleet;

The thing is that I would tend to agree had it not been perfect for the previous 45k miles. Something must have changed and my bets lie with the battery Current Fleet;

My car is 3 years old and the "Low Battery. Please start engine" comes only when we listen to loud music without the engine started. All my spelling errorz are belong to me!
