5.0 SC FFRR Down!!!!

It was all going so well. Not had any issue up until today with the SC 5.0.

Today got in the car to return home from the train station - onto the motorway for one junction - booted it to overtake and engine warning light on reduced performance message and car running like a dog with lack of power.

Pulled over and switched off. Restarted and same situation - close to local dealer so decided to crawl there - engine temps fine - gearbox changing ok but running like it's not firing properly

Got to dealers ok and it's now in for investigation.

Read lots of threads on what it could be - I'm thinking either supercharger aux pump or coilpack or plug blown........

Not going to be pleasant I think....... "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Fingers crossed for you that its nothing serious.
My 4.4tdv8 had a reduced performance message come up on the dash on the way to Scotland a few months ago. Struggled to get to 60 mph Shocked , so pulled off road in Perth, ignition off and restarted it but came straight back with the warning. Turned it off and left it for half an hour while we went for a cuppa, came back and started it up and got no warning or reduced power. All back to normal and has been fine for last 2000 miles Whistle . When we got back off hols i had i plugged in but showed no faults but diagnostic guy said it could just have been a bit of sh*te on one of the sensors

So I initial Diag is in - ahem..... all injectors on one bank decided to detonate themselves (service have no idea why), so the list is- one bank of injectors, all spark plugs, high pressure fuel lines, manifold , gaskets and bolts and seals etc - oil change and filter due to fuel contamination, one cat converter (again due to fuel contamination) and approx three man days to fix.....approx £3.5k before labour

I have a warranty so fingers crossed it's not going to be a very expensive month...... "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

One of mine did this. It was the throttle body and it's fairly common. Had the same on a 4.2 S/C Jag.
