Hello Newbie in need of a FFRR - NO LONGER

Hello everyone

I am new to the site and have found it very helpful and informative. Thank you! Looking forward to getting my first RR.

I am looking for a Vogue SE TDv8 in black(must be) with black interior, sub 50,000miles.

If you know of one coming up for sale I would appreciate you letting me know.

I have been looking for a couple of months but only started to look seriously a few of weeks ago. Pretty bad timing given the weather! It seems just when you find the right one it has sold a couple of hours ago.

Thanks
S2

Hi S2, what's your max budget? Budget will then obviously mean the age of car. Keep my eyes peeled, but you may want to compramise. Such as a Black one with Grey interior, cream interior etc. You may even need to consider other colours, as from experience black cars are a right pain In the arse, look great but greys and silvers seem to be easier to keep clean and hide scratches... well thats what I think anyway. Welcome Thumbs Up

Also how far are you willing to travel? Lancaster in Reading have a 07 Vogue SE in Black with Jet interior, 48K miles, £38k.

Have a look at the Approved Used site. Dealers will usually publish vehicles as they come onto their books. Get in contact with your local dealers and let them know you are looking.

Hi Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to spend less than £34k, I know that this makes my wish list a little opptomistic but i have seen a couple of cars go through main dealers recently. Unfortunately i just missed these.

Distance dose not matter and would travel anywear in the UK. I have spoken with a lot of dealers and had seen the one in Lancaster but given the weather i have not been able to get the car within my budget. There seems to have been a mad rush to buy them and i want a lot for a little. There has been a massive difference in the response from dealers, some cant do enough to help and come back to me with alternatives and others dont even return a call. Amazing!

I have the option of an 06 with 53,000miles black with black leather and and black trim also has the metal side bars. Its with a used car dealer but they said they will put it to Sheilds Landrover and have any work done to get it preped to main dealer standard and put 2 new tyres on. It is within my budget and would leave enough to get a 3 year warranty with warranty wise.(for what that is worth?) I would have liked to buy from a main dealer as i have never bought outwith one before but if the right car is not there at the right money then i will go out with.

Unfortunatley i am buying the car for my girlfriend so black is the only option, you know how it is!!!

Thanks for your help.

You can get a good model and year for that price, 06-07. Don't rush it though. Some people on here have been searching for months/years (Including me) Get the wrong car and you will regret it, get the right car and you will never look back. Also you could get an older car such as a 2004/2005 then with the spare get a 2010 conversion or facelift, not sure what they are called exactly though. But that doesn't really matter too much.

Thanks, Not so keen to go down the older conversion route as will prob keep the car a few years and not so worried if people no its age. Just want one that is mechanically right.

Mick - Thanks for the heads up, I have been in touch with them so it is on the radar. It looks pretty good but just holding off in case i can find the right SE.

As Royle said i am trying not to rush but its feels like walking a tightrope as you can miss out on a good car.

Maybe keep looking but wait for after the winter? Prices tend to go up when the snow falls and people start getting stranded in regular cars?

With the dealers, let as many know that you are looking as possible. Some of them will do some of the leg work for you. Paul

Other than the mileage (60K), this car matches your spec?

Thanks ukrangie
This has just come on. I think they had initially titled it a V6 so i had not followed it up. Anyway they are not far from me so will take a look tomorrow.

Put a returnable deposite on a late 06 Vogue SE, It going to LR dealer for service and anything else needing done, new MOT and 4 new tyres. I am then taking it to an independent specialist to look over before i take it. Fingrer crossed it a good one!

Thanks to all for help and advice. I will hopefuly be able to contribute soon.
