I got it Monday, so not really used it yet. Tried on 240v in the house and it's good. Not tried in the car yet, as 12v not always live. It's well made though, just fits under the parcel shelf and can also heat up, so ideal for picking up takeaways.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've got some bungee cords to strap it to the side net.... Just to be sure.

Anyone know a way of making the boot socket live without re-wiring?

It seems the relay bridge trick doesn't work on the newer models.

stick a multimeter on the fuses, theres a couple which are live and you can put a piggy back fuse on to get your feed.. ... - .- -.

Mine is 2010 and it seems to stay on for 5 mins before everything in the car shuts off. I also have a Waco - I use the freezer packs in it - these plus the power work all day no probs

Installed a piggy back fuse into socket 11 to give me a permanent live boot socket - thanks stan.

Found the above pictures and info very useful today. Wanted to install a solar trickle charger, but my 2010 didn’t have any live sockets once the doors were locked. With a piggyback fuse from #11 (glovebox) all is working, solar panel showing it’s still working after doors are locked. (The panel has a charge controller).
Just to add, these ‘add-a-fuse’ should be installed correctly for them to work safely, orientation matters, and the above pics are correct.

I’ve decided I need to do something like this now, as my car is now outside and not sat on the CTEK to keep the battery topped up.

Is there an easy way to get the front socket always live? I imagine solar panel sitting on the dashboard?

Have privacy glass so rear might not work as well.

Solar panel came with enough cable to reach the rear socket from the dash. It’s not pretty, but it makes sure you unplug it before starting engine (instructions say must be disconnected before starting). I’ve also heard of people using them behind privacy, but not sure how much it reduces the panel’s effectiveness.
