I use many jacks ... well over the years I have massed a collection of trolley jacks.. improving them with every upgrade.. I'm currently using one of these http://www.costco.co.uk/view/p/arcan-2000k...0eu-900930 It is considerably lighter than an all steel jack... but not as light as the all aluminium version, but half the price, so I'll live with it

Very well made, will lift the wheels of the ffrr with ease, and has the handy rubber insert in the cup to aid grip and stop damage to paint etc.. The smaller jacks, like the one Alistair has just acquired, are great as an emergency jack... but they have short handles.. so you'll be haft way under the car before you get to some where that you can jack, and the handle isn't attached.... which can be a real pain if you have to re-position during the operation.

And I keep that jack in the boot of the ML, the handle is easy to remove, just 1 knurled (grippiy) bolt, finger tight  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Same thing as mine only heavier... and not just in duty

You don't need a 3 ton trolley jack for a ffrr, the whole car only weighs 2.6 ton, you can't lift all 4 wheels at the same time, so technically a 1.3 ton would do the job, but a bit of redundancy is advisable as it's not 50/50 weight distribution  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
