annyway, i think it is possible to have some brackets made up that can then be bolted to the carriers i already have in place, using both the existing holes in the frame and the bolt etc that came with the dummies;

they would sit further out then designed to do, and would sit central of the bumper reflectors;, which i think actually look better being further apart, which is where the exhausts are anyway;

i will take some pics when i have them on and the other box of goodies Rolling Eyes

Defiantly.... all the Writter tow bars that I've come across have 2 lumps of angle iron down the chassis and then a cross member bolt across them with the hook attached... makes it a very long job to conceal them, which is why you see so many sporting tow bars even if they aren't towing.. Unlike the Westfalia version used by Land Rover, which to the untrained eye looks as if there is no tow bar when they are in stealth mode Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

well i guess it would be too expensive to buy the center section, and pointless really as i dont want th towing facility anyway, and probably wouldent have the 2 towing eyes which is where the dummies are designed to bolt on, so i think the brackets to existing are the route to go, and also saves taking the bumper off and breaking the side clips in the process probably

Wise choice Thumbs Up

I don't for one second think that the Powerful tips will fit a Writter tow bar setup, so there'd be a lot of Banging Head before you'd have finished.. I would either do as you are and mod the tips to fit the existing lumps of steel that you've got.. but I would personally think about copping hold of the proper recovery eye brackets and refitting them.... only if the worst was to happen and you needed to be rescued backwards from a ditch, for example, there is nowhere to tie the rope Shocked

Whistle Also having no tow eyes means that you can't smugly offer assistance to stricken road users in their time of envy Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

ACTUALLY, something i never considered miggit, yes perhaps that should be certainly considered; i will give it some thought, my only concern is that it seems almost a dead cert that the clips will break when pulling the side of bumper away from the wing, ? and looking at the video from powerful, it looks like simon actually breaks the side of the tabs on the bumper itself, ? so how would you get over that,!! would the bumper still go back together ok ??

just don't do it on a cold day, and if your worried warm it up with a hair dryer or the like, far more likely to brake if it's cold and brittle Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

worst case is something like this

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p85566?mkw...Gwod7-wFuQ

Every bodywork (paint) supplier will sell it plus it can be had from the bay of fleas, and for those of us that haven't done a runner, toolstation Laughing

It will stick like poo to the blanket... lotus bond their 2 seater roller skate thing together with a very similar glue.. in fact most cars are held together with this stuff.. windscreens for a kickoff Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

hi folks:

well i have decided to keep the half of the towbar brackets i have undernieth for now and bolt the dummies directly to the spare holes on the side of each plate; Rolling Eyes they sit a little further apart than would normally, but i think they look cool enough as they are,

i also fitted a brushed stainless step plate, wind deflectors, added some grills to the front and new stainless bezels for the fog lights, stainlesss covers for the window seals along the doors, and still have stainless numberplate bases to go on front an rear;

no too over the top i dont feel but looks a different car i think

Thumbs Up bob
