What sort of mileage is a tdv8 good for?

As above really. Just wondering what sort of mileage you could expect to get out of a well maintained tdv8. The 3.6 is in my price range, but the miles on many of these are high (ish). Certainly a few between 100k and 150k on the clock. Would this put you off even if the maintenance is good? Do they become a ticking time bomb at a certain point?

Have a search on here there are those who have run them to high Milages.

But there are things which can go wrong, turbos, alternators and you will be into suspension replacement too. The search tool will yield results.

Condition and history over mileage is the general rule though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mine is on 120k, gearbox Oil changed at 90k, otherwise just pretty much standard servicing (I'm including usual issues like intercoller hoses, stuck rear calipers etc in this....), everything works as it should and drives very well.

I'm sure there are plenty of examples with over 200k on the clock 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Ours have 116' miles, have the last year replaced EGR valves, gearbox flushed, new alternator, break pipes, GPS, BT module, FSR, intercooling hoses. Now I'm planning to replace TC, air suspensions front/rear. But this fantastic vehicle is well worth taking care of!

Mine has 256,000km or about 160,000miles. The motor and car has been has been great. I had to replace the tranny, TC & alternator. But wasn't surprised given the km. And pruchase price reasonably reflected the km. Also I got a good deal on a used tranny and TC. The service history was perfect.

I've disabled the EGRs in the last 6000km and put induction cleaner through it since I bought it at 230,000km. I would recommend doing both.

The next thing I'm considering is a 2nd crank case ventilation filter eg Provent, to reduce/stop oil vapour going through the turbo and IC and manifold.

I'm expecting a really good run. ______________________________

Bought my TDV8 7 weeks ago with 113500 miles on her. I have now done 2000 miles and simply can't fault it. It has a full service history but not all by LR. She is managing 27 mpg with no smoke at all and she is extremely quiet, smooth and knock free.

Condition, known history and a knowledgeable and caring owner far outweigh mileage as a criteria for finding any good car. I am expecting to get at least 10 years motoring out of mine. ☺

I bought my 3.6 with 167,000 on it.

So far, it has cost a battery, two TPMS tyre valves, one tyre, one seat cover, intercooler hoses and one Gap IIDBT tool.

Local main stealer said suspension bushes needed replacement, but it sailed through its MoT last month

Parking sensors not working at the mo' (since I had it) and will investigate these over the next weekend of so,

Venture Cam doesn't work - so what! One day I'll get around to fixing it...

53k on mine

Lovely drive.....but the secret lies in Italian tune ups.
Just give her a little warming up before you put pedal to the metal (bit like you would with the neighbour's wife given half the chance) and you will be rewarded with an unbeatable ride
Shocked
