That's lovely! The wheels must be tedious to clean though? Another reason why this wheel would suit me! I hate cleaning wheels!!

I prefer a bigger side wall but wanted a really stand out wheel, how long I will run them I'm unsure of yet!

Bought some genuine supercharged grilled and vents today. I didn't want to go for 2010 style as I personally think they suit age appropriate grilles. Finally time to ditch the chrome! Although strangely I like the chrome mirror caps as I feel it brightens the black up!

It's also going in for a health check tomorrow at landrover RR specialist for some piece of mind more than anything.

So when I bought the car it had shocking chrome side vents and a chrome front grille. On a silver car you can get away with it but on a black car with 22" wheels I think it looks tacky!

Got some supercharged vents and grille all genuine and age appropriate for the car.

Let me know what you think! I personally love the way it looks now!

Wow that's looking really good now with the new grills and paint restore. I have a DA machine but have been too scared to use it in anger for fear of doing damage. If you were buffing say a 2foot square panel how long would you keep buffing to get to that standard or how many passes would you make to risk no damage to topcoat!? Agueroooooooooo. 93-20
I swear you will never see anything like this ever again....watch it..drink it in.

Thank you, I'm very pleased with it too! Still things to do but it's getting there!

In terms of polishing many people take different methods some of which depend on paint thickness etc you could go on for years debating it.

My method is (and generally works for 98% of modern cars)

A da doesn't get enough of it out you will need to rotary it first.

So I go with a heavy rotary cut G3 on a very hard pad (not a hard pad off eBay or Halfords as they are still far too soft and just break up) I dampen the pad mildly but not soppy. Apply the G3 to a panel at a time, lightly spray water onto it if needed (just a mist from a spray bottle) go over the panel at 2/3000rpm and 1/1500rpm for plastics just to the heat it can build up, going over it 2/3 times.

I then go over it with a softer pad and menzerna on the da to take out the mini swirls the rotary puts in. You can go over the panel quite a few times at around 2500rpm as the da simply doesn't build up heat/ friction like the rotary does. You'd be hard pushed to burn through paint with my g220.

Like I said, this is my method that works for me and gives A good result. In my honest opinion a da won't give you the hard cut to remove all scratches and swirls. 19 L405 4.4 AB + Disco3 pick up + 800BHP Rothmans 911

Decided against putting winter wheels on the RR and bought this

I'm going to restore it as a rolling project, respray it in classic green with a cream roof and wheels.

It looks a lot better with the new grills, I am not a fan of chrome. Mine chrome handles and side vents, I removed the handles and colour coded them and changed the grills

I'll probably ditch the chrome mirrors eventually but for now it's staying!

So today I booked the car in for two new EGR valves at landrover indi

Also fitted the landrover puddle lights (don't ridicule me for this 😂 )

I saw somebody on here fitted the ones from super tweaks and I must say they're much better quality than the advert makes out! 19 L405 4.4 AB + Disco3 pick up + 800BHP Rothmans 911

Some more things done today...

I took the interior out (spare wheel, carpets out in the boot, the lot)

Hoovered and steam cleaned the carpets, cleaned the leather and the whole car.

The guardsman boot divider came which was ideal as I can finally put some extta stuff back along with my pooches.

Also my door lights which I'm very happy with! 19 L405 4.4 AB + Disco3 pick up + 800BHP Rothmans 911
