So being new to this FFRR malarkey I got the original supplying dealer (Marshall Webb Melton Mowbray) to let me have the history on my 56 TDV8 Vogue SE. He kindly pointed out that the car had not been brought in for the 2009 brake recall and offered to do it...sadly Melton Mowbray is a bit of a stretch timewise so I phoned up Duckworths Boston...them being my nearest LR main dealer.

It didn't go well.

Spoke to the service manager who referred to the safety recall as an 'upgrade'.
She then told me their computer system was down so they couldn't check what the recall was for. So she took all my details and said she would phone me back the moment they got their internet back...now, I know this is Lincolnshire and t'internet hasn't progressed much beyond dial up in some areas....but...

Two weeks on and no phone call.

I guess they weren't on the look-out for a potentially loyal customer after all.

I will try Market Rasen Duckworths next and see how far I get...

Suddenly Melton doesn't seem so far away..

Can you imagine how succesful businesses like this would be if they actually did their jobs? They're still successful even when they don't. Beyond me! Drives:

IMHO Duckworths are one of the better dealers - though I do also like Marshalls @ Melton - much better than Marshalls Peterborough.
