Have you spoken to the dealer about it? If you took it in there for a battery I presume you are well aquainted with them? The sensor is in with the rain sensor - in front of the rear view mirror. This is then fed to the Light Control Module, if it detects a fault it will give you basic lighting. You'd do well to get a copy of the workshop manual - if you are technically minded this can save you $$ instead of visiting the dealer. |

i would say its te rain sensor and at around 40 pounds would be the cheaper option but as dan said you would do well in getting a manual, its a very quick test with the sensor remove the cover around the mirror and unplug the the connector you dont even have to take it off the mount, connect it to the new sensor and cover the front, if the lights work you have found your fault but if not then put it back in the box and return it.you could do this in the car park of the dealer should only take 15 min max... hi, yes its not a hard one, but you need the mk4 LCM and the later rain sensor, the auto light switch...that reminds me i still have yours dan! the LCM in its self can be hard to find but beware the LCM hold a record of the current mileage from the car it came from, so if you get one from an other car it will be very unlikely to have the same mileage and i don't think they can be reprogrammed {it can only be written to once}, again this is not a prob and does not affect the working of it but you will get a black dot appear in your display next to your mileage and this tells the trained eye that the mileage could have been altered. if you bought a new LCM they would programme it with the current mileage to avoid this.dealer only. but it will all work,i did have an issue with bulb warning lights coming up for the rear lights, fog light and reversing but that was down to the LCM coming from a x5 and apparent on them the system checks a few more things then the range rover but this was fixed using navcoder, i still have the LCM in my garage as i wanted to get it re-written before fitting it just to make it all as it should be, will have to drop Colin BBS SPY i am sure he has the equipment to reprogram them.
