I was offered a Range Rover Classic by my friend as his neighbour had it sitting in his front garden for 6 years, his wife wanted it gone. It has a good engine and manual box, so they thought I would know someone interested in it for a race / kit car.

I picked the car up yesterday with my friend, who was going to take the engine & box out and eventually break the car, but it looks too good to break up and we wondered if anyone on here was interested?

It's a 1992 Vogue 3.9 Manual Vogue Hard Dash in Blue with Grey Cloth in remarkably good condition and is fitted with a tow bar. It has no MOT or brakes, needs some welding but starts and drives using the handbrake to stop it.

The dashboard lower trim has been removed, but is with the car and it has the usual drooping headlining & rusty tailgate. The passenger door glass has been removed & replaced with perspex and doesn't move, but the rest of the windows work. The lacquer is peeling in places and there are a few small dents

It's showing 89,000 miles, was last taxed in April 2009 so needs some welding and recommissioning, but would make a good basis for either a cheap tow car or full restoration project.

Yes provisionally sold to Big Boy R44ROV who is sending deposit. Will let you know if anything changes, so at the moment it looks like you won't be upsetting your wife just yet!

Just saw question re air suspension, I'm not sure but I don't think it is.

Looks like Big Boy has passed, but she's on coil springs not air, so Markdotreed's probably out & Dixy has the chance to upset the missus, if you want.

Otherwise it looks like she may be broken for spares.

I agree, it does look too good to break, which is why I listed it on here. It's sat outside my friends unit near Radlett as he was going to break it. I would rather someone take it complete and either restore it or just get it legal and use it as a cheap tow car.

Waiting a few weeks is not a problem with a holding deposit which shows intent, as my friend just wants to know what's happening.

A serious question, how easy are these to convert to LHD? I need something to leave at a place in France, but have it British registered as it will come back for 3 months over winter. This would be ideal if I could convert it to left hand drive.

Finding a decent left-hooker is more of a problem than I thought it might be. Don't want to spend a fortune but it really does need to be a Land Rover product.
