I know this topic has been discussed at length on here and I apologise for starting a new post about it, I have searched and went square eyes reading all the posts and have got myself more confused as a result. I am in Belfast and won't use any of the "gearbox specialists" over here because they haven't a clue and just want to take your money and don't inspire any confidence. The gearbox has had its filter changed and I am confident that it needs rebuilding. It's hanging onto gears and not changing when it should and there appears to be slipping as the engine revs up and speed doesn't increase. My question is has anyone used either of the following rebuilders:-

I haven't used them, having had 2 rebuilds ( by different garages ) it's important to find the right place.. I used http://www.staautogearbox.co.uk/home for my second rebuild and they know their stuff, there are several members on here that have used them....

There is Birch services who a few have used in Liverpool. Get yourself down to the harbour and on the overnight ferry to liverpool and a short hop from them or over to Cairnryan and drive down

If you go to Cairnryan you might as well go to Mackies in Glasgow. John
