Hi Folks,

2007 TDV8.

Over the last few weeks on cold start, I get, occasionally, a "Stop Engine Oil Pressure" sign in the info screen on the dash. Once I stop and restart all okay. There are no fault codes recorded.

Car is due for an oil change at the end of this month and thinking of doing it sooner. (I use 5W-30 Synth).

Any ideas? One thing that may or may not be related is it first happened the morning after I'd changed the top intake hoses to silicon.

Check oil level!

Oil change AND FILTER change and do it now. If it's still there after that try the sensor, after that it could be expensive.

And remember, when the light comes on it means the pressure is too low and damage is being done, it is not really a warning message it's a "Oh " message...

It could be low oil but that has a separate warning, if it is low oil it usually gives the warning when cornering as the low oil level will drop below the pickup as the oil surges, mind you it would have to have nearly no oil in to do that....

They have to set the oil pressure warning threshold so low as the pressure can get very low but not critical at certain times, if they made it an actual warning of impending doom, rather than a "Oh " message it would be going off all the time... It's always been like that, you would think they would have found a better way..... Pete
