Any SDV6 Hybrids out there?

I am contemplating a 8 month old SDV6 Hybrid MY2016. Just curious if anybody here has one and if they are happy with it and would get it again. Or will it give more issues down the line then a regular TDV6.

Thanks ! RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

I have thought about it but so far rejected the idea.

Two reasons:
1. 3.0l engine has been know to blow up.
2. No Adaptive Dynamic suspension.

1. The 3.0L engine is perfect, I have driven it for 2,5 years no issues at all.
2. I guess you mean Dynamic Response, which is only fitted to the big V8's. I don't miss it, I don't like the extra noise the V8 produces. Adaptive Dynamic is fitted to all Range Rovers as far as I know. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

No nasty noise from my SDV8. The 3.0 TDV6 does not come standard with the ARC suspension (Active roll control) but it can be specified at build. It definitely makes a real difference in everyday driving and makes cornering a much more flat and less dramatic affair.

The hybrid part will make it a very fuel efficient machine as the thirsty bit is accelerating from stopped and this is where the electric hybrid part comes into its own.

Would I have one? Definitely a hybrid, although I would lean towards the 4.4 SDV8 version based on the record of failed TDV6 engines so far.

How do you spec the ARC on a 3.0 or a hybrid? Not on the configurator that I can see.

Dunno, EM. But I have seen one with it, a 2014 model.

You can not spec, ARC it depends on the spec of the car you order i.e., it comes standard on all Autobiography speced cars but not on the entry level cars.

That makes sense, the one I saw was a 3.0 AB.

Playing about with the configurator, ARC doesn't appear for any of the models I've tried, including 4.4 Autobiography.

Not sure what to make of that.

I was under the impression it was only required on the 4.4 V8 due to the weight of the engine?

I drove a hybrid yesterday.

Interesting and impressive. The hybrid system wasn't charged when we started (too much city traffic, I guess). Nor did it ever get really charged up, so I didn't have the best experience.

Start/stop technology is transformed as the car start in electric mode and then the engine cuts in when you are under way.

The car cuts the engine and coasts to a halt. The regenerative brakes feel pretty natural.

It has the same get up and go as the SDV8.

The only thing I could fault it on was that the power was not perfectly linear. Sometimes it didn't accelerate as smoothly as the input. I'm not sure it would be noticeable to the passenger but, as the driver, you do notice the car isn't reacting exactly to the instructions you have given it.

The other thing is that even the Autobiography spec do NOT have Active Cornering Enhancement. I got a dealer to check the spec of the car versus an SDV8. The hybrid is clearly labeled as "LESS Active Cornering Enhancement".

Slightly difficult choice to make for me. I liked the tech. I would ideally take the hybrid over the 4.4. But I like the flatter cornering of the SDV8 (I didn't, in London traffic have a chance to try fast sweeping bends in the hybrid).

Bit the bullet and did not go for the LWB Hybrid but got a SWB TDV6 instead. Got worried about the overall length and hybrid technology being in its infancies. RR's that are part of my car timeline since I bought my first RR Classic in 1999:

Just seen for the first time these Hybrids drop to just below £90k for a 16 car.
