Is it just me, or does the goal posts keep moving? from a rotational force we are now at a constant rotational force, that is not as easy to be accurate with. Although wrapping a bit of string around the coupling and measuring the pull, is actually easier than the attaching a lever......

So we now have the string wrapped around the coupling, and anchored with a jubilee clip.... so how hard do you have to pull to get the correct setting? And then from that answer we can work out how strong both you and the string have to be Wink

FYI the coupling is exactly 55.00 mm in diameter

Goalposts haven't moved - I was trying to explain it using a drawing of a static situation - because trying to show a rotating arm ad spring balance is beyond my powerpoint skills. So all you have to do is replace my force with a spring balance, and use Phil's bit of string at a distance (d3) of 0.0275m

So to get 1.4Nm you need a mass (i.e. spring balance pull) of 5.2kg x 9.81 x 0.0275

Between 4.5 kg and 6 kg

Whistle "I wonder how the 60rpm speed is expected to be achieved..."

That would mean a pull of 172.78 mm per second Mr. Green Wink

I'm glad it's not as straight forward as originally implied, reckon that Phil's wrap it up and pull at 4.5 to 6 kg is going to work, but, if you were to do the job to the exact specification that was set out by the factory, the only way you could achieve this is to use the machine that the factory does...... I'm surprised that they haven't issued an instruction that the wheel nuts have to ALL be torqued up at the same time and not individually..... Whistle have you got a 5 headed torque gun in your tool box?

Don't you just love the way things are going... gone are the days that a competent peep could fix his car at the side of the road with a selection of tools, everything now a days needs special tools and computers Evil or Very Mad I have a longing to buy a 2 door Range Rover with a derv conversion... that would be ECU free... happy days Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
